Pit Stop 2 Withdrawal
‘Twas after the 3-Day,
When all through my house,
I was dreaming of bananas,
While sleeping on my couch.
“The walkers are coming!”
I heard through my mind,
And hoped that our pit stop
Would be ready in time.
The tents were all up,
And the potties empty of pee,
Joel was getting ready,
For drinks with the ladies.
When out in the distance,
The first walker was to be seen,
I looked over to Christy,
And the rest of our team.
The sun beat down on us,
All ready in blue,
While Dan cut MORE oranges,
And Carolyn yelled at the crew…
“Now Jackie! Now Echo! Now Amy! Now Judie!
On Malinda! On Tim! On Chris! And On Wendy!
To your stations, be ready, as the hordes make their
way,
Nancy’s ready for blisters,
Patty’s ready for things to come her way.”
As Sharon grabs more ice,
The first walker then comes,
Then another, and another,
Where are they all coming from?!!!?!?!!
As each minute passes,
Water bottles become empty,
Gatorade becomes margaritas,
And the smell of funk becomes tempting.
After what seems like forever,
The last walker goes on,
We drop down from exhaustion,
Our days were sooooo long.
We take down the tents,
And sit down as a crew,
What did we do right?
What else could we do?
Before long we realize,
Our three days are up,
We had so much fun together,
It still wasn’t enough.
I wake up with a start,
And realize the TV is on,
I’m back at my house,
And the 3-Day is gone.
So many friends made,
So many things to treasure,
A world full of kindness,
In which nothing can measure.
I miss you all already,
The Pajama Potty lives – never fear,
Thank you for all the great times,
And there’s always next year!
